About Me
Nate Pultorak is a dynamic Hammered Dulcimer player based in the picturesque northern reaches of New York State. His music seamlessly weaves together hauntingly beautiful melodies and high-energy pieces, captivating audiences and drawing them into an exhilarating musical journey. Introduced to the dulcimer at a young age, Nate was instantly enchanted by its unique tones, which resonated with his drumming background. His fascination led him to explore the instrument's depths, where he now pushes its boundaries with innovative techniques like looping, tapping, and multi-note hammering. Nate's talent and creativity were recognized by many, and in 2019 he won the National Hammered Dulcimer Championship in Winfield, Kansas. In addition to his solo work, Nate performs with the bands “The Lowmen” and “Casey and the Locomotives”, showcasing his versatility and collaborative spirit. He’s also currently producing an album that promises to further highlight his unique sound and artistic vision. Nate's contributions to the musical landscape have even earned him a feature in an episode of Mountain Lake PBS’ show, Soundscapes. At Nate’s shows, you can expect a rich tapestry of styles, from cinematic compositions and bluegrass to folk, pop, classical, and progressive rock. He breathes new life into timeless classics while staying true to their essence, delighting audiences with his inventive interpretations.
